Furries go camping

Yes, despite the rumors to the contrary, some furs are adventurous enough to go camping. This weekend myself and some of the other members of the Sacramento furry community went to the Folsom lake peninsula campgrounds.

Right now I'm exhausted and need a nap. So I'll add some more to this entry later.

Yay! no more sticky keys.

The zero and decimal point keys have been sticking on my keyboard recently. So tonight I decided to try to figure out what was wrong with them. I managed to remove one of the keys and was surprised to find dried soda underneath it. Also on closer inspection I found dried soda underneath a number of the keys on the lower edge of my keyboard. This was strange because I've never spilled soda on my keyboard. I asked my sister, who sometimes uses my computer, about it and she admitted that she “might have spilled soda on it awhile ago.” “great,” I thought, “spill soda on my keyboard and then not tell me about it.” So after I told her that she'd have to buy me a new keyboard if I couldn't fix it. I set to work trying to repair my keyboard. After I had disassembled it I found soda had found it's way inside and dried there as well. Hopping for the best I started to clean it. About 2 hours later reassembled the keyboard. I then plugged it back in powered on my computer and tested my keyboard. It worked perfectly and the keys were no longer sticking.

Printer Feedback

Jul. 10th, 2004 | 12:13 am

Earlier this evening a dialog box created by my Hp printer software appeared on my computer screen. It was requesting to send software and hardware usage data back to Hp along with my computers specs. This was so Hp could improve their products. If something was wrong with my my printer or the Hp software I would have happily sent data back to them so they could fix the problem. However this was not the case, everything was working fine. So essentially Hp wanted me to spend my time to send them data that wouldn't help me in any way. I mean the least they could do is offer $5 of my next purchase of ink in exchange for my time. But no they wanted me to give them some of my time and data collected on my equipment for free. Thus I clicked the cancel button.

SpaceShipOne goes sub-orbital.

MOJAVE, CALIFORNIA – SpaceShipOne made history today with the first Manned Private space flight. And it's Pilot, Mike Melvill, became an astronaut.

At about 6:45 am PDT SpaceShipOne was lifted aloft by the White Knight carrier craft.

An hour later it was set free, and after a few seconds gliding at Around 47,000 feet, Melvill ignited SpaceShipOne's hybrid rocket motor. Flame and smoke could be seen by observers on the ground, as the rocket plane soared upward through the Desert skies. After escaping Earth’s atmosphere, the vehicle and pilot spent about three minutes in free fall at a hight of 328,491 feet (62.2 miles) before beginning reentry.

Reentry went as planned and SpaceShipOne landed at about 8:15 am PDT on the same runway it had taken off from an hour and a half earlier.

For more information see the Space.comReuters, and AFP news articles.

I think It's pretty cool that some day I might be able to ride in to space on a vehicle like SpaceShipOne.

Idiot drivers.

Sacramento county may not be the worst place to drive In the United States, or even California, However it's still pretty bad. A number of drivers seem to have forgotten that they should to yield to cars approaching a merge immediately ahead of them. That blinkers should be always be used before turning or changing lanes. And worst of all, red traffic lights mean stop and wait until green. Not stop, then go if there's no one currently at the intersection or stop if you want to. Returning home today I saw someone do the latter. He just drove through the red light, and across the intersection I was approaching with a green light in my direction. Even worse the light had been that way for awhile. Fortunately I was far away enough from the intersection that I didn't have to take drastic action to avoid a collision.

employed = yes.

Last Friday morning the manager of the local 7eleven called me back and asked me if I would like to start job training that afternoon . Of course I said yes. I also worked/trained last Sunday and Monday. There was a lot to remember but I think I'm ready to start the solo shifts on Friday.

The worst time I've had so far at my new job was last Monday. I was about to get off work and was moping the floor, when I spilled the mop bucket. It took me thirty minutes to clean it up. My bad luck didn't stop there though, after I finished moping and was leaving I spilled my soda on the floor. And had to spend another ten minutes cleaning up that mess.

Hopefully that won't happen again.
