May we live in interisting times.

Last night, I was just settling in when a limb of a tree across the street from me broke and crashed down into the street. Fortunately the only damage it did was to block half the street for the night. it was surprising none the less though. you'd think that would be the biggest thing to happen in the neighborhood for a little while.. It wasn't though. tonight I was awoken bu the sounds and lights of three firetrucks at about 3:30 AM. Apparently a fire had started in one of the walls of the house across the street to the NW of mine. There fortunately wasn't too much visible fire but there was a good amount of smoke. As a concerned neighbor I went to see what had happened. After locating the residents of the house I politely asked if they were all alright and if I could provide any additional assistance to them as the firefighters did their work. Happily they had all made it out without any injuries and tanked me for my concern. within 40 min the firefighters had gotten the fire out by cutting into the wall. Now all that's left is for them to finish up their investigation and cleanup. Hopefully there tomorrow night things will get back to normal.
