Not going to Califur

I ended up canceling My Califur plans. Not only was it looking financially unstable, but it also turned out I had forgotten my sister Julia's graduation is on the 8th and family is coming into town the weekend before. Fortunately I was able to cancel on the person I had made tentative agreements with and he was able to make other plans.

It sucks that I won't be able to show Azurin around at Califur, but other conventions will come.. there are a few later in the year that I might be able to make it to if things work out.. and at worse there's next year's FC.

As for the car.. the other driver that was at fault had some cut rate insurer that has yet another company managing the claims. I just gained official Title to my late father's car so now I have even more legal standing to press the issue. worst comes to worst I'll just call my insurer (Progressive) and see if they can help with the situation.

I still haven't gotten around to looking at it. If need be I know how to replace the brakes myself, and I did know that when they start squeaking and grinding that it's time for replacement.. I'm pretty sure I have to get the front rotors resurfaced as well though, and the tires rotated from front to back. I can probably do most of that myself. and I think some places will even resurface rotors for a fee. Though it's going to be annoying without a car lift or good jack. If I actually had all the proper tools I'm confident to do almost all my car maintenance aside from the engine (just so greasy and cramped to do that). convenience does have a cost though.. I might just end up getting a good shop jack and then using it and jack stands to do the work. The stereo unfortunately will just have to stay broken for some time..

As for medical bills my mother is willing to help cover those, which is great since I really didn't want to take out a loan to cover them. the car has allot of mileage on it anyway so I probably wouldn't have gotten much to begin with.

so things while not that great arn't going too badly either.
